About 2 years ago I stumbled upon Lytro technology when they were releasing their new cameras into the consumer market. This month they released a nice update to their technology.
Lytro cameras capture more than just an image. They capture the whole lightfield in your shot. With the light field data, they amazingly allow the photographer, and even the online viewer, the ability to re-focus a shot by taping on the digital image. This can be done in post production or even on your facebook post or wherever you upload your image.
Now they've expanded on the technology to allow you to slightly shift the perspective of your shot.
