I think a .com domain suffix has a clear advantage over other suffixes when it comes to mobile devices and browsers. The world is trending mobile too.
Some things to consider:
- Most mobile devices have a .com button on the keyboard when you are typing an email address or web address.
- Browsers will fill in the ".com" at the end of a domain name if you press CTRL+ENTER. -try it.
- .com is synonymous with "the internet" or "online". It's broadly recognized on sight and doesn't need to be questioned or raise questions as to it's meaning.
- .cc doesn't stand for cloud computing. Someone may be marketing it that way, but It's the country code for Cocos (Keeling) Island, a territory of Australia located in the Indian Ocean. Similar to a .us domain.
